Iona Arrival

Here`s a short poem, written and performed by Hazel L. Mathieson.

I met Hazel on my first visit to Iona in 2015, where she shared this delightful poem at the “House of John” gathering, headed up by Andy Raine.

The small island is in the Inner Hebrides off the Ross of Mull on the western coast of Scotland. It’s been the centre of Gaelic / Celtic monasticism and is renowned for its tranquillity and natural beauty and home to artists and creatives from around the globe.

Nick feeling inspired, armed with a trustee GoPro camera, hopped aboard a sailing boat heading towards Staffa Island. The results fit nicely with Hazel’s heartfelt words….enjoy Iona.
