How are we doing?

Every now and then it’s a good idea to take stock, as George Santayana put it.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it!

Since the beginning of the year I’ve been engrossed in a series of truly eye-opening reads. They tell of the unbelievable tragic story endured by the North America Native Indians at the hands of European land grabbing invaders – Yep my mongrel-ancestors!

Not easy reading!

It turns out that the majority of these early ‘settlers’ were invariably from the old world – Countries where they too had been persecuted for their religious beliefs – thats a strange fact to mention “you’d think these people would know better than most about the gift of mercy?” after all these poor zealots – just wanted a homeland in which to freely practice their sacred faith, along with a ragtag band of “duckers & divers”….simple folks that desired a better life…..

Well those “cross carrying colonists” ended up using there so-called biblical mandate to brutally drive out their host peoples. Firstly, through deception followed by a murderous campaign of apocalyptic annihilation, peaking with the monsterous de-culturalizing boarding schools, documented as ” a sincere attempt to breed out the native culture.”
